Pardon me, I'm under construction.

My apologies to all of my readers in advance while I attempt to re-charge my blog and inject some new life into it by an overhaul of the design. I'm going to be playing around with a few things over the next few days until I land on something I really like. If any of you have suggestions, I really want to hear them- either regarding layout or content, topics you want me to talk about in the days ahead, anything at all.

Spring is a time of re-birth, and I'm feeling just that.  My blog and I may experience a few growing pains along the way. I expect and welcome it.  Please bear with me.

Hope you will continue to follow along with me, as I love having each and every one of you here with me.

Ciao,
Karen

Reconstruct all you want, Karen, but please do not go away or leave us panting for too long. Your blog is always interesting and well written (I know I have said this before, but it is still very true). I have no suggestions about your format but in terms of content, I would like to know more about the daily life of Venetians and how they are affected by the economics of tourism and the burgeoning university presence. Anything you have to say about how you cope with routines - shopping, bureaucracy, healthcare, getting around, etc. would be welcome.
Do you feel you have lost any of your initial excitement? Are there any disappointments or regrets? What makes you most happy about your becoming Venetian?
Can't wait for your next posting and the one after that and the one after that and ....

Jane- thank you! You are way too kind. All of your suggestions/requests are great ones, I will work them all into a post here or there in the near future. If you have other thoughts, send them along, per favore!

Also, what do you think about the referendum of the Veneto seceding from Italy. This announcement was on the news about 3 weeks or so ago. There was some talk about the Venetian government refusing to send taxes to Rome.

Dianne- great question. I've got it on my list to post about here, will plan to get to it this week. Grazie! Keep ideas and comments coming!
